
Dr. Jon Stack

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology)
Dr. Stack is board-certified in the specialty of cardiology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. ​He completed his veterinary education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2012 , followed by a small animal medical and surgical internship at Purdue University. Dr. Stack practiced as an emergency clinician for two years at a large specialty practice in Washington, DC. He then went on to spend some time doing research as a post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University before rejoining clinical medicine as a cardiology resident at his alma mater. In his final year of residency, Dr. Stack was recognized by the department with the Walter E. Hoffman and Ann L. Johnson Resident Teaching Excellent Award. ​Dr. Stack has practiced in specialty hospitals in as a staff cardiologist in Washington, DC and the Sacramento area prior to founding Capital City Veterinary Cardiology. Dr. Stack lives with his partner, Sunny, a veterinary oncologist, and their two cats (Momo and Katsu, the troublemaker) and two dogs (Ellie and Quinn, the other troublemaker).
